I was working on a branding project for a small café, and I needed a font that felt clean, approachable, and modern. That’s when I first came across Waldrip — a modern and neat sans serif font designed for clarity and versatility. Its clean lines and balanced proportions made it stand out immediately. As I began testing it in my mockups, I realized how well Waldrip could fit into real-world design scenarios.

Waldrip for Café Branding and Logo Design

When I started with the logo concept for the café, I wanted something that would feel inviting yet professional. Waldrip, with its sleek and modern look, was perfect for the main text. It had a subtle weight variation that allowed me to create contrast between the logotype and supporting text. The font didn’t feel too bold or too light — just right for a brand that aimed to be welcoming but not overly casual.

I tested it on a few different versions of the logo, from a minimalist version with just the name to a more detailed one with a tagline. In every case, Waldrip maintained readability and visual balance. It worked especially well when paired with a complementary serif font for the tagline, giving the logo a refined touch without losing its modern edge.

As I moved into packaging design, I found that Waldrip translated beautifully onto product labels and menu boards. In print, Waldrip’s clean lines stood out against white space, making it a great choice for flyers, posters, and business cards. I used it in combination with a slightly bolder sans serif font for emphasis, which helped establish a clear visual hierarchy without compromising the overall design.

Waldrip for Merchandise and Brand Assets

As I developed merchandise for the café, like mugs and tote bags, I found that Waldrip worked exceptionally well on fabric and ceramic. The font’s simplicity ensured that it remained legible and stylish, even when scaled down or printed on textured surfaces. It also felt natural in both monochrome and color variations, making it versatile for different applications.

I made sure to check the font’s file formats and licensing to ensure it was suitable for commercial use. Waldrip’s support for multiple weights and styles meant I had enough flexibility to create a full brand system that felt cohesive and professional.

Whether it was used in branding, web design, or editorial projects, it consistently delivered a clean, modern look that aligned with the client’s vision.
